What Causes Mild Fever, Frequent Urination And Body Chills After A Colonoscopy?

My mother is feeling real sick like she kinda has the flu. She is running a low fever of 100 and she is urinating a lot. She goes from being real hot to having the chills and she says her bones hurt. She just recently had a Colonoscopy and after that procedure she started feeling like this. And just right before that she went to the Dr. and he said she has a low thyroid. I m really concerned about my mother and hope you could help shed some light on her situation

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since there is frequent urination, fever with chills and bones hurting the commonest cause I can think about is Urinary tract infection that is UTI although the colonoscopy has been done. Colonoscopy does not give such complications.
I would advise your Mother the following in such a situation:
Send the sample of urine for routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity tests.
Tests of blood.
X-ray of abdomen and ultrasonography of abdomen.
Consult a Genera Surgeon or Urologist for clinical evaluation, correlation with the reports to get a proper diagnosis and get started on a proper antibiotics, symptomatic and supportive treatment as needed.
If there is no colonoscopic complication take plenty of oral fluids.
