What Causes Mild Fever In Infants?

I need some advice i just checked my 27 month old sons temperature as he was going to sleep and it was 99.4 auxillary. He felt hot as I was putting him to bed so I checked his temp. He was acting fine before he went to sleep so I was concerned as to what could be wrong?? Can you help me?

Thank you for asking on HealthCareMagic. Most of the fevers in children sore throat in children of this age are caused either due to certain viruses. Such infections are self limiting and recovery occurs spontaneously in 5-7 days irrespective of the use of antibiotics. It is often associated with cough, wheezing, sore throat or pus over tonsils. You need not worry. Just keep the temperature in control by the use of medicines like paracetamol or by cold sponging.
