What Causes Mild Pain And Swollen Spot Outside The Anus?

While wiping my anus after a random B.M., I discovered a small swollen spot just outside my anus. It s about the size of a small marble. Feels like it s under the skin, unlike an ingrown hair follicle (where it feels pimply ), this feels more like a small cyst. It appeared out of nowhere about two weeks ago. When I press on it, it s mildly painful. It does not itch. I cannot feel it when having a B.M.

Hello,

As per your case history, you are having a furuncle, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil, and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
