Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Minimal Blood Circulation To Leg After Clot Removal?
my mother suffers from high blood pressure, she is diabetic and has high cholesterol, she has also had a stroke. she recently had 2 operations to remove blood clots in her arterie (right leg) however 2 days after the op the leg from the knee below has gone cold and the doctors can not get a pulse either. they are saying there is cerculation there but it is minimal, wanted to ask is this normal and can it happen post op? also what questions should i be asking the doctors/surgeons as she has been in this condition for over a week and its not improving or getting worse? please advise
It is very dangerous and I would suggest to take a second opinion as it can be damaged to arteries during clot removal. Is there any bluishness or blackness in the leg, if yes then it is a emergency and needed urgent attention.
