General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Irregular periods are due to your basic problem of PCOD- which interferes with ovulation , by altering hormonal constitution of patient's body.As a results it results associated predominance of male hormone in patient's body. You had been given Diane 35 to control your menstrual hormonal cycle with the hope- to correct the hormonal imbalance. You got regular periods till you were on Diane 35- Next you were given- Cytomid 250- having anti androgen ( male hormone) Activity-to alter the hormonal pattern to encourage ovulation./ discourage male hormones activity like increased hairs on face, weight gain. Aldectone - Acts in PCOD by reducing body weight. * I feel you should visit an expert gynecologist to confirm the diagnosis/ know the severity by investigations like Sonography- ovulation study/ blood hormonal estimations. To be followed by specific treatment. Thanks.
