Hello,

I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Urine pregnancy tests should be performed as per the instructions given to read well. False positives can occur when using external hormone medication. Also, cheap tests can give erratic results. In this scenario, the sonogram, preferably trans-vaginal, along with an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres, is ideal for diagnosis. Since your sonogram does not confirm any pregnancy, you can wait for onset of your natural period and go for a repeat test if you do not see it.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam
