What Causes Mouth Ulcers After Taking Amoxicillin For Strep Throat?
I went to see a doctor a few days ago due to a sore throat. I was given amoxicillin for strep throat. Now, fout days later the sore throat is gone, but I have some, what appear to be, canker sores on the inside edge of my bottom lip, my cheek, and tounge. The sores are all subsiding, but I have red and painful gums near my bottom front teeth. This area is bright red and now has a burning sensation.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The mouth ulcer can be secondary to allergic reaction to amoxicillin or it can aphthous ulcer secondary to the stress. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Meanwhile you can take topical anesthetic like lignocaine and topical analgesic like choline salicylate. Do saline gargling. The lesions will subside in 3-5days. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
