What Causes Mucus And Headache After Taking Allerga And Flonase?
My 20yo daughter (with history of resolved asthma actively treated from age 10-15) is being treated for respiratory allergies with Allegra and Flonase. She continues to produce mucus and have headaches after 1 month. Should she see specialist? If so, what type? We are 80 miles from a major medical center (University of Alabama Birmingham).
Hello As you mentioned that your doctor treated for asthma . As asthma is typically an allergic disease . The allergy producing factors are mite, dust , hay , fumes , pollen , mold , sudden change in temperature , pests . The allergy produces bronchoconstriction and this causes breathlessness and also produce mucus . Your doctor is still having mucus ( phlegm ), if it is watery or whitish color ,amy be due to allergy without any infection . But if color is not above mentioned may be due to some infection . So in my opinion consult a PULMONOLOGIST and get his opinion . Mucus may be due to , these possibilities . 1Bronchitis ( allergic or non-allergic ) 2 Bronchiectasis 3 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis . Good luck.
