Noted your history about stopping smoking, sinus infection probably, mucus in throat which goes away on burping, all these problems in spite of Probiotics, Zegerid and Zantac. First of all, to know whether you have a sinus infection or not you need to undergo a CT scan of sinuses and nose. This will confirm the diagnosis to get an accurate management by Nasal Decongestants, symptomatic and supportive management. This will automatically treat the throat problem, the mucus and all. As for burping an addition of a motility regulator like Motilium that is Domperidone can help you a lot. Take antacids when required. Avoid stress and anxiety. Soft bland diet. And no smoking again will all help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
