i have notice that there is mucus in my poo for the past 18 months and i sometimes have diarrhea and i go for a poo like 3 times a day where as before i would poo once every 2-3 days so im always up and down from the toilet. what should i do because im embarrassed to tell my parents but i really want to get it checked out as the mucus gets more and more every day so what would your advise be to me? please help.
Hi Thank you for posting your query in HCM. I had gone through your question I understand your concerns. My opinion is that you should consider this problem of mucus secretion in the blood associated with bowel changes as it occurs in inflammatory bowel diseases. If i were your treating doctor i would ask you to get these tests done .blood tests, stool test, urine test, colonoscopy, endoscopy. I would come up with thses possible diseases like ulcerative colitis, crohns disease, irritable bowel syndrome, anal fistulas, fissures. I would also advise you to increase intake of probiotic foods, more water, healthy and balanced diet. Hope i have answered your question if you have further questions i will be happy to help.
