What Causes Mucus In Stool?

My two years old baby passes mucus a little often from the age of it s 8th months though it s stool is normal in color & solidity also. He is 11 kg weighted only though it is been feeded four times in 24 hours maintaining the suggestions of a pediatric specialist. From last 01 month he is being suffering from sticky mucus issue. What is the main causes of it s suffering from mucus & under weight & what steps can I take to release from it s mucus problem & develop it s health please???????
