General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my surgical experience, the mucus in stool if single episode can be of not significance, but if regular appearance must be evaluated for

- inflammatory bowel disease
- intestine infection
- malabsorption syndrome
- metabolic disorder
- others.

I recommend to undertake a stool microscopy examination and consult with the report in follow up session.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
