hi, my baby is 5 months old and her poop has been yellow greenish with a little bit of mucus in it. i no that usually means that they have a virus but i am not to concurned about that, in her poop i also see alot of white granny looking stuff in there as well and a few times i have seen black stringy things, i no usually kids get it from bananas but i have not introduced her to solids yet. what can it be?
When did this start? Any vomiting? If there is no fever/vomiting, stools are not too watery or blood stained, this need not be worried about. Stool of young infants varies much in colour and consistency. Just be sure that baby is active, playful, feeding well and gaining weight as expected. Presence of above symptoms suggest acute gastro-enteritis that needs evaluation with your pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
