What Causes Mucus Plug Discharge From Vagina?

hi... i had an intercourse about 1 week and 3 days ago(i ate morning pills after it) and after 1 week i had me tested with baby check and i wasn t pregnant. today i had a mucus plug came out of me and im so scared! i searched about it and im sure its a mucus plug. can i still be pregnant? Can that happen to a none pregnant person?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Since you had the emergency pill, you are adequately protected. If you were in the safe period during the intercourse, you are naturally protected. The emergency pill contains high doses of progesterone and this causes hormone imbalances and leads to withdrawal bleeding. There is no need to worry about the mucus plug. It is perhaps a premenstrual release. Please see a specialist if you do not see your next natural period even after ten days. Hope this helps.
