What Causes Muffled Hearing In The Right Ear After Taking Allegra?

Hi, I took Allegra for a two-week period while visiting family, in order to prevent possible asthmatic reaction to their cats. I then developed sudden hearing loss in the right ear (muffled hearing, sense of slight pressure, metallic sounds). This was three weeks ago. I have now had hearing loss documented by an audiologist--two days ago--and tomorrow I am to see an ENT specialist. I m just wondering if the ear congestion listed as a side-effect of Allegra could have a possible connection to my hearing loss? Thank you.

Hi, chances of HOH is there with Allegra by...
the cold mucus is generally thin cloudless. after Allegra like antihistamines, the thin mucus becomes thick which causes Conduction defect when it is there in middle ear. After confirm this you may require tymphanostomy- vent application to make your middle ear to get ventilated. then you will hear properly. avoid self medication always.
