What Causes Muffled Hearing?

Hi.. My left ear feels muffled and it s like theres something in it blocking it. I was sick a couple days this week with sinus and cold problems but i dont think it is what is effecting my ear. I ve havent had any problems with my ears until now. I was listening to my ipod with loud music and the ear buds that kind go down into the ears alll morning from 10am till 2pm constant while cleaning and i turned off the ipod and took out the buds finally and realized my left ear felt funny and blocked.... could the music have effected my left ear... its annoying me drastically!!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

I think your eustachian tube ( a normal tube between the ear and nose) is blocked , which is causing the muffling in ear , This normally occurs during/following a cold and is common in sinus infections. You can try steam inhalation 2-3 times a day and if you are not ok in 2 days, then meet your ent doctor , who will examine you and guide you further.

Thanks
