Four years ago, I had a CT scan and was told i had a nodule in my lung. I recently had another CT scan. Today, my doctor s office called to inform me that the CT scan showed multiple non-specific nodules. I don t know how many. The doctor recommended I have another CT scan in 3 months. I am scheduled to see a pulmonologist next week. Should I be concerned?
Thanks for your question on Hcm. Yes, it is a thing about which you should concern. There are many causes for lung nodule. Benign as well as malignant. And you need to do regular followup with CT thorax. Since your recent CT shows multiple nodules, it clearly points about worsening, as earlier CT shown single nodule. So follow your doctors advice and get done follow up CT after 3 months. If you are smoker thsn you should immediately stop smoking. Multiple nodules in lung can be due to 1. TB 2. Malignancy 3. Occupational diseases. 4. Connective tissue disease etc. So consult pulmonologist and Discuss these things.
