Hello dear,
I understand your concern.Your treating doctor was probably correct in telling you that it was a viral infection.Viral infections are usually accompanied by diffuse muscle pains, headache, sore mouth and a lot of malaise or uneasiness.Fever is usually mild. You can take antacids like proton pump inhibitors for your stomach dyspepsia and a proper rest along with good amount of fluids to let your body recover fast from viral infection.Viral infections are usually self limiting and do not need a lot of medicines.I hope this reply helps you.
