What Causes Muscular Spasms After Taking Ciprofloxacin 500 Mg?
Dear Dr., Yesterday I started to take Ciprofloxacin 500 mg x 2 per day (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.). But during the night, as soon as I was to fall in sleep, muscle spasms started in different parts of the body (arms, legs etc.) and not allowed my to sleep all the night. Could you help me?

muscular stiffness and pain is a rare but documented side effect of the drug ciproflox.
it may be possible you may be having it best solution is to stop the drug and change the antibiotic there are many other options available. why did you need to take ciprofloxacin in the first place had you shared the reason a alternate could be suggested but any how please do tell the issue to your treating physician and get an alternate prescribed.
