What Causes Nagging Cough While Treating Sinus Infection?

I had an acute sinus infection and was given a sinus cocktail and an antibiotic that didn t help, I went back and they give me a different type of antibiotic and some nasal spray which cleared up the infection but I have had a cough, and mucus since then. For about 6 weeks. What should I do to get rid of this nagging cough?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have nagging cough while treating sinus infection which is due to sinusitis infection. I would suggest you to take steam 2-3 times a day to relieve congestion, drink plenty of fluid and do warm saline gargles. You should take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order blood test or X-ray. He/ she may prescribe antibiotics course nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines and decongestant. You should take cough expectorants as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
