What Causes Nausea And Dizziness After Smoking Cigarettes?
What does it mean when every time I smoke cigarettes I get nauseous, dizzy and feel like I m a bout to pass out? I ve been smoking for a few years and this just recently started... Its getting bad now and I tend to throw up after. I m gonna stop smoking but I want to make sure nothing is wrong with me inside.
As per your query nausea and dizziness after smoking cigarettes is because of nicotine which is main ingredient in tobacco. Long term use of nicotine has effect on central nervous system and it activates sympathetic nervous system. This causes release of adrenaline from adrenal medulla into blood stream. Adrenaline causes sudden rush in body and increases heart rate and blood pressure.
This sudden increase in blood pressure is the cause of nausea and dizziness and if you are taking any medication in routine for any other cause then there are chances of nicotine interaction with them and worsening of symptoms.
I would suggest you to quit smoking as that is the only preventing measure. Start reducing first or start using nicotine patches. Keep chewing sugarless candies or chew-gums. Drink alot fluids and water.
