What Causes Nausea And Headache After Intercourse?
My husband and I were having sex and I experienced a sudden headache that came up the back of my neck and went to the top and forehead with sudden nausea also. I went in and lay down for 5 minutes and all symptoms are gone. I am 61 years old. Any thoughts? thanks
Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern.
In this situation there are some possibilities that can be the cause of your headache : - A high blood pressure during the episode could cause this type of headache - A subarachnoidal hemorrhage from an aneurysm, a small hemorrhage can cause similar symptoms - Orgasmic headache : this is a benign headache which occurs during this situation.
So I would recommend to consult with the neurologist, have a careful physical examination and a brain CT scan if necessary. I would also advise to monitor your blood pressure.
Hope to have been helpful!
