Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have moderate pain in the right region of my abdomen, keep having episodes of severe nausea and my blood sugar keeps dropping into 50 s and 60 s. SPO2 running mid 80 s to low 90 s . Could this be onset of appendicitis, my gallbladder, uterus and ovaries were removed years ago
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since appendix, gall bladder, uterus and ovaries have been surgically removed years ago, these can not be the reasons for the pain in right side of abdomen and nausea. The most probable causes can be: Appendicitis as you have said. Stone in the right ureter can mimic the same symptoms. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get a CT scan of the abdomen as it helps the best fr diagnosis of typhlitis, appendicitis and stone in the ureter. Tests of stool, blood and urine help further to get an appropriate diagnosis and a plan of management.
