What Causes Nausea And Sickness When The Head Is Turned Towards The Right Side?
Hi. Ever since my early 20s, (I am now 49,) I have had a problem. When I turn my head right round to the RIGHT, to talk to someone or look at something, I feel nauseous and sick. Especially when in a car, train, bus. But it doesn t happen when I turn it to the left. Any idea why? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have nausea and sickness when the head is turned towards the right side . Well this is a balancing problem which could occur due to middle ear infection , some kind of growth in middle ear or fluid in middle ear, inflammation within the inner ear and acoustic neuroma or Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) . You should not ignore this , because sometimes the condition get complicated due to loss of balance . For now take proper rest , do not bend forward , do light exercise like yoga and meditation. You should start with antibiotics, steroids and labrynthine sedatives for at least 10 days following vestibular rehabilitation exercises. Consult with your ENT specialist and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and tuning fork test and treat it accordingly . Doctor may also prescribe antiemetic medicine along with device like meniett device .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
