Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So a couple of days ago, I was suddenly hit with nausea, diarrhea, an aching head with every time I stood up, and I couldn t eat anything without wanting to throw up. I barely ate anything for 2 days. Luckily now the diarrhea, and aching head have gone away. But now I still can t eat without wanting to throw up. What is going on?
Hello dear, I really appreciate your concern. Nausea and headache can be associated with gastritis. I want to ask you whether you have problem of recurrent hyperacidity or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Nausea and difficulty in swallowing are very common with these two conditions. I want to ask whether you have taken food outside of home or taken food at any ceremony, whether any one who attended the function have similar symptoms. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are common features of food poisoning. I advise you to drink oral rehydration solution in stead of plain water for 2-3 days to replenish any electrolyte loss due to diarrhea. You can take proton pump inhibitors tablet along with anti-emetic tablet. Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care. Thank you.
