Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This evening I ate a canned Salmon (wild BC Sockeye) sandwich (mixed with mayo and relish) on rye bread; half-way through eating the sandwich I felt nautious. I get this same feeling about once or twice a month. It's intense for about 5 minutes after which I feel just fine (and I don't throw up as a rule but occasionally during those nautious bouts I do. I'm not overly concerned. Should I be and what do you think may be the cause? Thanks.
The symptoms can be related to gastritis. It is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. I recommend doing an endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. I recommend using antacids to lower the level of acid in the stomach. I also suggest you avoid food that can trigger the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
