Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. You must be having neck muscle
sprain which became painful again due to neck movement and less likely it could be
cervical spondylosis.
Neck muscle sprain is more likely as you twisted your spine four days back and you developed it. You are feeling more pain on turning head on same side. In cervical spondylosis, pain is more on flexion or lifting weight or sleeping with thick pillows. Cevical pain is current like, usually radiates to same side upper limb along with tingling/
numbness of hand.
If you have such symptoms, you must consult neurosurgeon. Meanwhile, at home
;avoid pillow
; avoid weight lifting
; avoid neck flexion
; use hard cervical collar
; for pain relief, you can take tab Pregabaline/Gabapentine after proper prescription
If your symptoms are not like cervical spondylosis, then it must be "Neck sprain". It can be treated by
: Gentle neck massage
: Apply warm compresses at pain site
:
Neck physiotherapy after some relief. It will help in stretching of neck muscles and thus increase flexibility
: You can take painkiller with
muscle relaxant like Diclofenac-Tolperisone after proper prescription.
: Use neck collar till pain relief.
: If still no relief,
consult doctor.
Hope it will help you. Thanks, take care.
