What Causes Nickel Sized Bump/welt On Cheekbone To Occur Periodically?
about 7 years ago i woke up one morning with a nickel size red bump/welt on my right cheekbone. over the next few days it got redder, then scaley, was stinging, and so i went to my dr. he said it looked like a spider bite. it had 3 bite marks in a triangular pattern. he gave me a rx for a antibiotc and it gradually went away. since then, about every 18 months or so i get the same sized welt again in exactly the same spot and it takes 4-6 weeks for it to heal each time. i now have it again and dont know what to do.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history, your son is probably having eczema. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine for itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
