What Causes Night Sweats After Recovering From A Blood Infection?

my husband has had two bouts of bladder cancer treated with bcg. Immediately after completing the second round of treatments he developed a blood infection called strep bovis bacteremia. This was about 4 months ago and required infusion therapy for 30 days. Although we did expect recovery to be lengthy his improvement physicallly has been minimal. Still suffers night sweats that developed with the infection and never had before, fatigue, lack of appitite. No one can seem to find the answer.

Hi,

Fever may with septicemia lead to release or interleukin or tumour necrosis factor may lead to cellular or molecular level damage.

This chemical mediator may lead to damage to mitochondria lead to decreased oxidative phosphorylation so no utilization of energy leads to weakness. It may take time to recover after major illness.

Tablet levocarnitine or co enzyme q supplementation is useful. Drink plenty of liquids. eat green leafy vegetables. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
