What Causes Night Sweats And Rapid Heart Beats?

My son just called and has me worried. He is experiencing heavy night sweats, and has been for a long time. Maybe 2 years, but lately, it has been happening more often. He is also experiencing his heart working harder. He says it doesn t happen when he is working, but when he is quiet and relaxing he can feel it working harder. I believe it is happening when he is working also, but just doesn t realize it. I say it has something to do with his heart. Which we do have in our family. He is 44 and single, and owns his own business. What would you advise me to tell him?

Hi,

Abnormal feeling of heart beat needs to be ruled out for cardiac elements. This is the rule and without this nothing can be said for sure, but most of the time the given symptoms could be due to anxiety and depression.

But these cannot be taken as granted until and unless it is being proved, it is better to get done the cardiac test like EKG and ECHO.

Hope I have answered your query.
