What Causes Nose Bleeds In An Elderly Person While On Amlodipine?
Hi. My dad age 74 experienced for the 2nd time an excessive nose bleed (clots) and last for about more than 1 hour. He is currently using pharmapress 10mg twice a day and amtas (amlodipine) 10mg. We saw a nose specialist and he advised a vain in the nose causesd the bleeding. My question: can my dad use pharmapress and amtas 10 together. Can amtas 10 cause the excessive nose bleed?
the ENT specialist already identified the cause of bleeding so I don't see the need to look any further. Amlodipine (amtas) can be used with pharmapress (there is no contraindication). Amlodipine does not cause nose bleeding. Please note that nifedipine (contained in pharmapress) may rarely cause nose bleeding but since the specialist already identified the faulty blood vessel, this is where the focus should be drawn.
I hope you find my comments helpful! Kind regards!
