What Causes Nosebleed And Fever After Having Shot For Strep?

My daughter was diagnosed with strep on Wednesday and got a shot for that. She has run fever ever since. She now has a horrible, congested cough and can barely talk. She just blew her nose earlier and blood started pouring out of her nose. It s been bleeding for about 10 minutes. Any thoughts about what might be going on?

Hello. Welcome to hcm.
Bleeding from nose is due to break of blood vessel when pressure increases. This might be the reason for your daughter to have nose bleed. Blowing of nose forcefully causes vessel to rupture and cause bleeding.
Streptococcal shot is not known to cause bleeding from nose.
Consult your doctor if bleeding recurs.
Also avoid blowing nose
All the best
