What Causes Numb Quadriceps?

Lately my quadriceps have been feeling drained, numb, like they are falling asleep in evening hours. Menthol and arnica rubs before bed helps. I exercise daily, eat raw organic food (no sugar, no salt, only a little complex carbs, etc etc) considered excellent health by doc except one factor: I mysteriously lose all the ferritin in me every 8 months for no identified reason. (down to a lab result of 10 under ferritin tests. Hemoglobin normal) Could the two conditions be related - I am overdue for my feraheme as I lost my medical PPO insurance a couple months ago.

Yes quadriceps is a big muscle which need oxygen to work smoothly . Since your ferriten levels are not adequate , your quadriceps muscle didn't get enough oxygen and hence they have to work in anerobic condition which leads to accumulation of lactic acid which is responsible for pain and numbness.
Once your ferritin level gets normal, this problem will slowly go away .
Wishing you a speedy recovery
