Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

According to me, if you had sudden numbness without pain then I suspect it to be paralysis. It is better to see a doctor and get an MRI done. But if you fell numbness gradually with pain over a period of time then it might be spinal stenosis or spine related pathology.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gaurang B. Shah, Orthopedic Surgeon
