What Causes Numbness And Tingling On Face After Stroke?
I just recently had a stroke. Since then I have numbness and tingling on the left side of my face and numbness in my finger tips on the left as well. My neurologist said he believes this is shingles brought on by the recent stroke. I have been on the highest dose of oxtellar for 2 months with no relief. Do you feel this is right or could it be something else.
I read your question carefully and understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to the stroke. The regions in the brain which are responsible for the sensation of the hand and the face are very near in your brain. So a stroke which affects this area can cause these symptoms.
The brain cells have been damaged due to the stroke and there is no known drug which can regenerate them. So I am afraid that these symptoms will persist, even with a relief of the numbness because of the compensating effect of the surrounding areas with this region.
Hope to have been helpful!
