What Causes Numbness In Hand And Legs At 22 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

My daughter is 22 weeks pregnant, she and her husband traveled to Nashville today and about 1 hour into the trip her legs and arms became numb. She got out and walked around, but it did not go away and still hasn't as of right now. She is in no pain, it just feels numb. What could this be? Also, she seen her doc this morning before she left, and because of some redness on her arms they are checking her blood platelets, can the two be connected?
