What Causes Numbness In Left Arm And Painful Ear While Having Sleep Apnea Test?
Hi I did a sleep appniea test last night where I used a embla machine. I had to remove the machine at 3am as I was experiencing numbness in my left arm, a stabbing pain in my left ear. Is there something medically wrong or was the machine faulty as once I took it off I felt no pain. Please help
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of pain in the left are and the left ear while put on Embla Sleep apnea machine. The most probable reason for such an occurrence is as follows. Since you must have been put on the Embla machine for the first time, it is possible that your pre-existing cervical sponditilits must have been stressed and that caused the referred pain to the left arm, and the left ear. The waking up changed the position of the neck and the pinched nerve got released for the symptoms to go away. I would advise you the following: Get an MRI of the neck (cervical spine) and you can have other studies related to spleen apnea like MRI for this too. If there is a positive findings, please get further treatment for this problem too.
