I am 21year old woman morbidly obese im 5 4 and 300+pounds i am a diabetic amongst other weight related health problems for the past several weeks I ve been getting server sharp pains in my chest and around my heart and the past few months weird numbness in my legs when im sitting or laying down. I dont have the slightest clue what this can be but im scared. Im sure it s probably something else related to my weight.
Severe pain in chest could be a warning signal indicating heart disease. You must go for a heart check-up including lipid profile and ECG followed by consultation with a cardiologist. For how long have you been suffering from diabetes? Long standing uncontrolled diabetes leads to several complications like heart disease, neuropathy or nerve damage. Numbness in legs is an initial sign of neuropathy. Don't get scared or stressed. You need to manage your diabetes well by monitoring your blood glucose at home using a glucometer and making any dietary modifications needed to manage blood sugar levels. Try to increase physical activity and walk as much as you can comfortably. Avoid sedentary activities like watching TV or using computer for long hours. Hope this answers your query and gives you an idea about what needs to be done, so that you can make informed decisions regarding your health. Take care.
