Hello,
I can understand your concern. As you are feeling that gum around your wisdom tooth is sore, it is possible that your wisdom tooth on lower left side is impacted, meaning it wants to erupt into oral cavity but lack of physical space is not allowing its eruption.
In such situations, the food you are eating gets lodged into the fold of the gum around that tooth making the area infectious and painful. This pain can be felt up to the ear as
referred pain.
However, this condition is not associated with the tingling of the hand, which might be related to deficiency of calcium, Vitamin D or Viramin B12.
I would advise you to start antibiotic Cefadroxyl 500 mg (Droxyl) twice a day for 5 days. You can combine this with
analgesic such as
Ibuprofen 400 mg or
Ketorolac 10 mg when you are having pain. Doing warm salted water gargles and using
Chlorhexidine mouthwash will help to clear the infection faster. For the
tingling sensation, you should start with vitamin supplements after taking advise of your physician.
If the soreness around tooth and ear does not go away after 5 days, you should consult the
dentist for disimpaction/extraction of the wisdom tooth for permanent relief.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you feel better soon.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
