What Causes Numbness In The Middle Of Bottom Lip?

Hi! My name is Kathy, i was just wondering what would cause the middle of my bottom lip to feel numb! It started yesterday. I have other issues 7 yrs ago i was hit by a truck crainal nerve 7 was severed in the accident leaving me with facial palsy left sides, just wondering if that could be it? Could it happen just out of blue?
