What Causes Numbness On Clitoris After Menopause?

Since menopause approximately 2 yrs after finishing my periods my clitoris has become numb: very little sensation. I can see that there may be reduced blood supply to the area. I am using vaginal HRT but this does not seem to help the clitoris. It is not psychological, it is a physical thing. I have never ever had any problems reaching orgasm before a numb penis would be taken seriosly but all I have been told is its my head, can assure you it is not. Can you suggest an oral HRT or testosterone cream for the clitoris?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Conjugated oestrogen's are a good idea and not testosterone creams at this point of time, but the exact amount to be applied needs to be advised by a doctor after a physical examination. I would thus advise you to visit your doctor and request for a prescription on the creams that I mention here, and the dosage he/she would recommend. You can use Premarin cream, estrace or compound; all contain conjugated oestrogen and should help with increasing your clitorial sensation.

I would also like to ask if a physical examination ruled out any structural/physical abnormalities.

Best wishes.
