What Causes Numbness On The Face And Body During Pregnancy?

Hi I m 37 weeks pregnant and the right side of my face and body has a tingling numbness sensation that s been going on for about a week once a day. Hasn t been this bad that it resulted me to not sleep at all today, the sensation has gotten worse and I feel as though my face is swollen. Also a feeling of itchiness all over has occurred as well. What s wrong with me?

Hi,

You seem to be getting a Bell's palsy.which causes temporary loss of feel and movement in one half of face. It is usually reversible .

I would advise you to vist your gynaecologist to rule any other condition such as Hypertension in pregnancy,as that could affect the pregnancy.

If it is just Bell's palsy it subsides after delivery .
