What Causes Occasional Nosebleeds With Dizziness And Nausea?
My friend has been having nosebleeds occasionally since early last year, but recently the frequency has increased quite a lot. He has also been experiencing frequent dizzy spells and nausea recently (in these two months), probably as often as once every alternate day. Would like to ask for your opinion on what might be happening to him and whether he should see a doctor, thank you!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history about your friend who has nosebleeds for 1 year with spells of dizziness and nausea. The reasons can be benign or malignant. The benign are, ulcer, hypertensive arterial spurts, scabbing or some bleeding disorders. The malignant means there can be a tumor that causes the bleeding.
To decide the reason it is important that the friend be having clinical evaluation, examination ENT endoscopy and MRI of the nose and brain. This will help to get the correct diagnosis and the plan for the proper treatment as per the cause found. If he is hypertensive, blood pressure should be kept under control, if there is a bleeding point to cauterize the points. If cancer or so, this will need the operation for removal.
