What Causes Odor With Heavy Bleeding After Taking MTP Kit?
hi, doctor i am 24 years old. I took MTP kit 3 days earlier and itook last tablets day before yesterday. I m still experiencing excruciating pain and cramps and bleeding is also very heavy. and the most concerning thing of all is that there is some unusual smell coming out with bleeding. I am afraid that that there is some internal infection. Is all this normal?? and if not please suggest me what to do. and if it is infection than what kind of antibiotics I can have??
Hello dear Understand your concern Bleeding may remain up to 5-6 days after taking pills. It is just like more than period with blood clots and tissue. If it is foul smells you should consult the gynecologist and require per speculum examination, USG and swab teat to diagnose. Infection is treated by antibiotics like cephalaxein for 7 days, maintain proper pelvic hygiene, apply hot pad over pelvic ares. USG should be done after 14 days to confirm incomplete abortion as it increased the chance of infections. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
