I am a 25 year old female who was misdiagnosed with what my doctors thought to be consistent UTIs since February 2014. After several rounds of Cipro, and my OBGYN finally noticing that no signs clearly pointed to a UTI I was referred to a nephrologist. I had kidney pain for some time but now it is mostly flank pain (primarily front but also back side when it hurts enough). It mostly occurs at night and gets worse each hour past ~4:00. I tried one dose Prilosec (because the nephrologist thought that my stomach upset may be GERD (my mother has GERD). I had a reaction to it (I woke up the next morning with orange/brown spots on my inner elbows. I have read a lot of horror stories about Cipro and I am afraid that it has done damage to my stomach. Any insight as to what this might be?
