What Causes Orange Urination And Bowel Movement While Having Constipation?

My 2 and a half year old daughter has had two,Orange wet diapers. Her BM this morning was orange as well. She has had a bit of constipation the last 2 weeks and we have been using senna and mineral oil to help her along per her pediatrician. I m not sure why her urine is orange? She doesn t not seem to have any pain when urinating.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Orange color urination may be due to
1. Medications (antibiotics/ATT drugs)
2. Some foods (excess carrots)
3. Less water intake

Concentrated urine

Rx: give plenty of liquids nothing to worry. Better to do complex urine examination (CUE)

For constipation

Rx: give fiber diet, fruits and more water.

Constipation may cause urinary tract infection and hence orange colored urine.
