hi my 6 year old daughter has been sick with fever and sore ear for past 4 days. we have been using auralgan in her ear resulting in little relief. tonight before bed we noticed a runny orangey red discharge from her ear. should we be alarmed by this and should we seek mediical care or continue to treat at home?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

As per history, she had acute otitis media. You had used the drops - Auralgan, sometimes during ongoing ear infection, tympanic membrane got rupture, fluid along with some blood - mixed discharge come out from ear canal - resolving ear. Don't worry about it, because after this, the patient's pain subsides.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
