What Causes Pain Above Buttocks On Movements?

I have been having pain that is extreme when I sit and it feels as though there is a mass that I press on when I sit. I feel the pain right above my butt crack. I bothers me when I sit, adjust in the chair or lay on my back in the bed. Any type of movement causes me extreme pain. My doctor thought it was a fibroid but the gyno. ruled that out and I have had a CT scan and ultrasound. The pain is getting worse but nothing seems to be affected by this issue. Please help!!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you are having lumbar spondylitis. In this condition there is nerve compression in the spine and that causes pain and tingling and numbness in back of thigh and buttocks. To confirm this diagnosis you will need MRI.
I would like to suggest you to follow these stages.
1.Tablet Pregabalin and Methylcobalamine tablet daily.
2.Lumbo sacral belt
3. Back muscle strengthening exercises.
If above mentioned steps are not helpful than you might need epidural steroid injections and some time dissectomy.
I hope these steps will help you.:Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
As pain increases on movement, it suggest muscle strain.I recommend you to consult an Orthopedician for proper examination and required investigations.
Meanwhile -
1. Do a cold compress on the area of injury.
2. Avoid weight bearing .
3. Keep the limb elevated on two pillows while resting.
4. Get some mild pain killers prescribed from your doctor.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more concern.
Warm Regards.
