What Causes Pain After Urinating While Sexually Active?

I have to pee a lot and when I pee, as soon as its finishing, it starts to hurt and burn pretty bad. im scared to go pee because it hurts. I am sexually active usually every other day. when I wiped it kind of looked like It was a pinkish color. I am very close to starting my period as well so that might be what it is but as for the pain while peeing, I dont know and I am scared. I had a pap smear recently so I know its not an std because Hes the only person I ve been sleeping with.

Hi,

Sex is a common cause of UTIs in women because sexual intercourse introduces bacteria into a woman's urinary tract. During sex, the urethra comes into contact with the bacteria from the genital area and anus, allowing them to enter the urethra, the bladder, and possibly eventually the kidneys, and result in an infection. Please get a urine culture and sensitivity test done and check the results with a doctor. If required ultrasound scan of abdomen might be done. Please drink lots of water and visit washroom regularly.
