Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain And Bleeding While Sexual Intercourse?
During sexual intercourse. Felt slight pain and started to bleed. Only hurt in that instance the pain stopped straight away. Bleeding stopped after washing in cold water. In my situation I don t feel comfortable seeing my doctor. Will I be ok if I just leave it, and how long before I can have sexual intercourse again?
Hi there. I hear your history & understand your distress but am afraid, we will need a few clarifications to help you more specifically. How old are you? Was this your 'first' sexual experience as in were you a 'virgin' hitherto? Is there any prior medical history that we should know about that causes you to bleed? As far as I can tell, it appears that some amount of friction may have caused some local tissue tear &/or hymen tear & this should sort itself out in 48 hrs max. If in pain, please take some Ibuprofen 400mg three times/day with meals . I envisage you can have sex in some 72 hours but perhaps prudent to give it a further 48 hrs for best results & do remember to use a lubricant during the next consummation & please do Practice "safe Sex" always & use a condom if not practicing monogamy & if not married. Good Luck & wish you Good Health. Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD
